Antiochus of Palestine

Antiochus of Palestine, also known as Antiochus the Monk, was a 7th-century monk and an author of the Pandektes, a collection of moral sentences. The identification of Antiochus with the contemporary Antiochus Strategos, author of a narrative on the Sasanian conquest of Jerusalem in 614, is disputed. The Greek original of the latter text is lost; the work is preserved in Georgian and Arabic versions. In Eastern Orthodox liturgy, one of compline prayer is attributed to him .
