Cheshunt (/ˈtʃɛzənt/ CHEZ-ənt) is a town in the Borough of Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, lying entirely within the London Metropolitan Area and Greater London Urban Area. The area is on the River Lea and the Lee Navigation along with the New River. It is 12 miles north of central London, 35 miles south of Cambridge, 15 miles ENE of Watford, and 1.5 miles east of the Essex border. The town is situated on the A10 road.The town has a population of 45,832 according to the United Kingdom's 2011 census.
