Vivian Pinn
Vivian Winona Pinn (born 1941) is an American physician, scientist and pathologist known for her advocacy of women's health issues and concerns, particularly for assuring that federally funded medical studies include female patients, and well as encouraging women to follow medical and scientific careers. Before her retirement in 2011, she had served as associate director for research on women's health at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and had directed NIH's Office of Research on Women's Health. Pinn also previously taught at Harvard University and Tufts University (where she also served as assistant dean of student and minority affairs) in Massachusetts, as well as Howard University College of Medicine (where she also chaired the Department of Pathology) in Washington, D.C.
