/usr/bin/god

/usr/bin/god was a planned hard science fiction novel by Cory Doctorow, originally intended to be published by Tor Books. The story was to involve an out-of-control artificially intelligent spam filter, nerd culture, Extropian cultists, and "the end of the world", and evolved in part from an expansion of one of the author's earlier stories, 0wnz0red. In a June 11, 2008 interview with The Onion's A.V. Club, Doctorow stated that the book was "on the shelf more or less permanently, although it might be resurrected at some point".
