106.9 West Hull FM formerly known as West Hull Community Radio (WHCR FM) is a local community radio station which launched in 2007 as the first community station in the city of Kingston upon Hull, England. It serves the areas of West Hull, and surrounding towns and villages of Anlaby, Cottingham, Hessle and Willerby with an adult population of over 90,000. It aims to promote local community events in particular charitable events, inform listeners of local news particularly focusing on West Hull, along with a wide choice of music and offering adverting/sponsorship for small local businesses.
