The 2000–01 Georgetown Hoyas men's basketball team represented Georgetown University in the 2000–2001 NCAA Division I basketball season. The Hoyas were coached by Craig Esherick and played most of their home games at the MCI Center in Washington, DC, although they played some home games early in the season at McDonough Gymnasium on the Georgetown campus. The Hoyas were members of the West Division of the Big East Conference. They finished the season 25-8, 10-6 in Big East play. Their record earned them a bye in the first round of the 2001 Big East Men's Basketball Tournament, but they lost to Seton Hall in the quarterfinals.
