The Blues qualified for the playoffs for the 23rd consecutive season, and defeated the Chicago Blackhawks, four games to one, in the Western Conference Quarter-finals before losing the Western Conference Semi-finals to the eventual Stanley Cup Champion Detroit Red Wings, also in five games.
