Alexander Hinton

Alexander Hinton serves as the Director of the Center for the Study of Genocide and Human Rights and Professor in the Anthropology and Global Affairs Departments at Rutgers University, Newark. In 2011-2013, he served as the President of the International Association of Genocide Scholars, and currently he serves as the UNESCO Chair in Genocide Prevention. In 2009, Hinton was awarded the Robert B. Textor and Family Prize for Excellence in Anticipatory Anthropology. In 2016, he served as an expert witness at the Khmer Rouge Tribunal.
