Allaire duPont Distaff Stakes

The Allaire DuPont Distaff is an American Thoroughbred horse race run annually at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland. A Grade III event run in mid May, it is open to fillies and mares age three and older. It is contested on dirt at a distance of  1 1⁄16 miles (8.5 furlongs). From 1992 through 2001, the race was contested at  1 1⁄8 miles (9 furlongs). The race was run in late June for its first three years. Then it was moved to the Preakness undercard beginning in 1995. In 2010 the race was put on hiatus due to a shortage of purse money.
