Anna Liza

Anna Liza is a Philippine television series produced by GMA Network starring Julie Vega. It was also the network's very first longest-running soap opera in a primetime slot. The series was an adaptation of the popular radio drama series of the same name in Cebu in the 1970's which was created by Ray Benedicto. It soon became a TV drama series in 1980 under a direction by Gil C. Soriano, and received the attention of thousands of Filipinos—making it one of the most popular and well-loved drama series of all time. Anna Liza served as a competitor of RPN's Flordeluna, starring Janice de Belen and led to the showbiz rivalry between Vega and de Belen (despite being highlighted as bestfriends offscreen).
