Asha Roy
Asha Roy (born 5 January 1990) is an Indian sprinter. She competes in the 100 metres and 200 metres events. Roy was born in Ghanshyampur, a village in the Hooghly district of the Indian State of West Bengal, and grew up with her parents Bholanath, a vegetable-seller, and Bulu Roy, a homemaker, and three siblings. It was upon her father's insistence that she took to athletics and trained in 200 metres under a coach, Probir Chandra.
