Blackbird mine
Blackbird mine was a large cobalt mining facility in Lemhi County, Idaho, United States. Mining for gold started in 1893 and the cobalt content was recognized in 1901. The mine produced copper and cobalt between 1902 and 1968. The deposit still holds considerable amounts of copper and cobalt. The mine site became a superfund site and was cleaned up in the 1990s.
