CONCACAF Championship
The CONCACAF Championship was an association football tournament that took place between 1963 and 1989. The competition is sometimes referred to as CONCACAF Campeonato de Naciones or the NORCECA tournament, taking its name from the acronym of regions entering the tournament (North America, Central America and the Caribbean). The first Championship took place in 1963 and was CONCACAF's first organised tournament for national teams. The competition retained its tournament format and was played on a biennial basis for a decade. The competition was renamed the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 1991.
