Charaghata

Charaghata is a remote village in the District of South 24 Parganas in West Bengal. There are near about 1800 people including 1200 voters. Most of the villagers are poor and needy. The villagers yet to be educated though there are two primary schools in the village. There are seven tube wells for drinking water. Most of the villagers work in cultivation. In addition, there are many ponds for bathing and watering. There is a canal flowing beside the village. There is also a bricks made road through the village, north to south. There were sound cultural activities in it. But is a great regret that it was past. Now every good activities is fell down in politics. Most of the well-educated persons have to leave it to avoid political influence or police's hazards.
