Church of St Nicholas, Bathampton

The Church of St Nicholas is an Anglican parish church in Bathampton, Somerset, England. It was built in the 13th century and has been designated as a Grade II* listed building. The church stands between the River Avon and the Kennet and Avon Canal. The tower was added in the 15th century. Restoration work took place in the 18th and 19th centuries. The church contains the Australia Chapel celebrating Admiral Arthur Phillip, the first Governor of New South Wales who was buried in 1814. The churchyard contains several other significant tombs.
