Condé Nast Traveler was founded by Sir Harold Evans in 1987, with a focus on literary journalism and hard news reporting. As founder and Editor in Chief, Evans coined the motto "Truth in Travel," which declared that travel industry freebies would not be accepted. Condé Nast Traveler is currently led by Editor in Chief Pilar Guzman. Ms. Guzman was the founding editor of Cookie magazine from 2005-2009.
