Die Zeit (Prague)

Die Zeit ('The Time') was a German language daily newspaper published from Prague, Czechoslovakia 1935-1938. The newspaper was the central organ of the Sudeten German Party (SdP). The first issue came out on October 1, 1935. Die Zeit took over the role as the central party organ from the weekly Rundschau. Walter Brand was the editor-in-chief of Die Zeit. The newspaper received funds from Germany. 250,000 Reichmark were transferred for the launch of Die Zeit, followed by a monthly subsidy of 10,000 Reichmarks. Die Zeit had an illustrated supplement, Zeitspiegel ('Mirror of Time').
