It occupies the northern portion of Saskatchewan and is coincident with the Northern Saskatchewan Administration District (NSAD). Division No. 18 is the largest census division in the province in terms of area at 269,996.55 km2 (104,246.25 sq mi), representing 46 per cent of the province's entire area of 588,239.21 km2 (227,120.43 sq mi).
