Dolphin Energy

In 1999, the government of Abu Dhabi established Dolphin Energy Limited to implement the Dolphin Gas Project and link Qatar, the UAE and Oman in a unique, strategic energy initiative. After several years planning, drilling, construction and engineering gas production started in July 2007 at the company’s onshore facilities in Ras Laffan, Qatar. Here, gas taken offshore, from the North Field, is processed before export via subsea pipeline to the UAE.In February 2008, the Project reached full throughput of 2 billion standard cubic feet per day, helping meet 30% of the UAE’s energy requirements. Supplies of natural gas to Oman started in October of the same year.
