Elizabethtown is a home rule-class city in Hardin County, Kentucky, in the United States. It is the seat of its county. The population was estimated at 29,335 by the United States Census in 2012, making it the 10th-largest city in the state. It is included in (and the principal city of) the Elizabethtown–Fort Knox, Kentucky Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is included in the Louisville/Jefferson County–Elizabethtown–Madison, Kentucky-Indiana Combined Statistical Area.
