Faculty of Arts, University of Jaffna
The Faculty of Arts is one of the nine academic faculties of the University of Jaffna in northern Sri Lanka. The faculty was established in October 1974 as the Faculty of Humanities of the Jaffna Campus of the University of Sri Lanka. The faculty has sixteen departments and its current dean is Professor V. P. Sivanathan. As at 31 December 2011 the faculty had 2,469 undergraduate students and 142 academic staff (121 permanent, 21 temporary).
