Fakkeh, Iran

Fakkeh (Persian: فکه‎‎) (latitude:32° 03' 40" N and longitude:47° 40' 55" E) is a place at the northwest of Khuzestan and southeast of Ilam province in Iran. The north of Fakkeh is belongs to Dehloran County, Ilam and the south of Fakkeh is belong to Dasht-e Azadegan County, Khuzestan. Also, this place is a border region between Iran and Iraq. There are a lot of sandy land in the Fakkeh area and it has dry weather. During Iran-Iraq war, most of Iranian forces killed thirsty at the Fakkeh. For this reason, condition of the war in the Fakkeh was considered to be that of battle of Karbala.
