Freedom of the press in Ukraine
Freedom of the press in Ukraine was considered in 2013 to be among the best of the post-Soviet states other than the Baltic states. Freedom House reported the status of press freedom in Ukraine in 2015 as improving from Not Free to Partly Free. It justified the change as follows: In 2015 the main concerns about media freedom in Ukraine concern the handling of pro-Russian propaganda, the concentration of media ownership, and the high risks of violence against journalists, especially in the conflict areas in the east.
