Fremington, Devon

Fremington is a very large village, civil parish and former manor in North Devon, the historic centre of which is situated three miles (5 km) west of Barnstaple. There is an electoral ward with the same name. The ward mainly covers the village and the population at the 2011 census was 4,310. Fremington is situated between the south bank of the tidal estuary of the River Taw and a small inlet of that river known as "Fremington Pill". Fremington Quay was formerly a port on the River Taw, half a mile north of the village centre.
