Glinciszki massacre

The Glinciszki massacre was a mass murder of civilians that occurred on 20 June 1944 in the village of Glitiškės (Polish: Glinciszki), now Vilnius District Municipality, Lithuania. In the massacre, 26 or 37 mostly Polish villagers, including women and children, were killed by the Nazi-subordinated 258th Lithuanian Police Battalion as a collective punishment for the deaths of four Lithuanian policemen at the hands of the 5th Brigade of Armia Krajowa, the Polish resistance, earlier that day. The massacre triggered an act of revenge by Polish partisans against Lithuanian policemen and civilians in Dubingiai.
