The Gloucestershire Echo is a daily paper produced by Gloucestershire Media, part of Local World. It was founded in 1873. The newspaper is based in St James' House in the centre of Cheltenham. It covers Cheltenham, Bishops Cleeve, Tewkesbury, Cirencester and the Cotswolds up to the Gloucestershire border. The editor is Matt Holmes, who has been in position since January 2015. In 2012, Local World acquired owner Northcliffe Media from Daily Mail and General Trust.
