Jagorawi Toll Road
The Jagorawi Toll Road was the first toll road in Indonesia. Construction on the highway began in 1973 by some 200 workers at a cost of 350 million Indonesian rupiah per kilometer; it was officially opened by President of Indonesia Suharto on 9 March 1978. The Jagorawi Toll Road links the capital city of Jakarta to the West Javanese cities of Bogor and Ciawi. It has a length of more than 60 km going north and southbound and is operated by PT Jasa Marga, a state-owned enterprise. The name Jagorawi is an acronym of areas which it connects, which are Jakarta, Bogor, and Ciawi.
