Jubilee Market

Jubilee Market is located in Jubilee Hall in Covent Garden, London. The first market in Covent Garden piazza took place in 1654, but the Jubilee Market was not built until 1904. It is the only market in London to be wholly owned by traders, who strive to make more and more beautiful and interesting place. Traders decided to take over the market to save it from bankruptcy. They got together and, after a major renovation of the market itself, began in 1985 and lasted two years, had the honour of seeing their market opened by Queen Elizabeth II in person, on Aug. 5, 1987, as also recalls the headstone placed on one of the facade of the market.
