The station is owned by Tegna, Inc., as part of a duopoly with independent station KONG (channel 16), along with Tegna-run regional cable network Northwest Cable News (NWCN). The three operations share offices and studios at the Home Plate Center in the SoDo district of Seattle, and KING's transmitter is located in the Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle.
