Katherine "Katie" Sugden (née Addyman, previously Macey) is a fictional character from the British soap opera Emmerdale, played by Sammy Winward. She made her first screen appearance on 18 July 2001 and departed in 2005 when Winward took maternity leave, she returned in 2006. On 28 November 2014, it was announced that Winward had quit the soap and would leave at the end of her contract and Katie was killed on 5 February 2015 by her brother-in-law and ex-lover Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) and made her final appearance on 9 February as a corpse.
