Lapinlahti

Lapinlahti (Swedish: Lapinlax) is a municipality of Finland. It is located in the province of Eastern Finland and is part of the Northern Savonia region. The municipality has a population of 9,940 (31 March 2016) and covers an area of 1,245.13 square kilometres (480.75 sq mi) of which 148.58 km2 (57.37 sq mi) is water. The population density is 9.06 inhabitants per square kilometre (23.5/sq mi). The neighboring municipality of Varpaisjärvi was consolidated with Lapinlahti on January 1, 2011. The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
