Limone Piemonte

Limone Piemonte is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Cuneo in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 100 kilometres (62 mi) south of Turin and about 20 kilometres (12 mi) south of Cuneo, on the border with France. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,572 and an area of 71.3 square kilometres (27.5 sq mi). The train reached Limone in 1891 and made it to be a "ski-station", after in 1897 the skis arrived in Italy. In 1907 a competition began the official history of ski in Limone. And in 2007 the village celebrated the "Century of skiing".
