Since the A-League's inception in 2005, 12 players have accrued 200 or more appearances. The first player to meet the landmark was Matt Thompson with Newcastle Jets in 2013. Thompson was overtaken by John Hutchinson of the Central Coast Mariners in 2015. The current record-holder is goalkeeper Danny Vukovic, overtaking Hutchinson in October 2015. Vukovic has now made 250 appearances.
