Live Oak Bar is a former settlement and mining camp in El Dorado County, California. It was located on the South Fork of the American River 3 miles (4.8 km) upstream from Coloma. Live Oak Bar was founded in 1848 by James W. Marshall, discoverer of gold at Sutter's Mill in Coloma.
