"great place"); Hebrew: מגדל / Migdal, meaning "tower"; Arabic: قرية المجدل / Qariyat al-Majdal) is the name of at least two places in ancient Palestine mentioned in the Jewish Talmud and one place that may be mentioned in the Christian New Testament.
