Nashville metropolitan area
The Nashville metropolitan area is a metropolitan area centered on Nashville, Tennessee, in the United States. It includes 14 counties in Middle Tennessee. The Office of Management and Budget defines the metro area as the Nashville-Davidson–Murfreesboro–Franklin, TN, Metropolitan Statistical Area, a Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) designated for statistical use by the United States Census Bureau and other agencies. The area is the 36th largest MSA in the United States and is the largest metropolitan area in the state of Tennessee, although Nashville is the second largest city in the state to Memphis.
