The event's name was a reference to its position on the "Road to WrestleMania". The inaugural event took place on March 12, 2016 at the Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Nine matches (including two dark matches) were contested on the event. The main event saw Triple H defeat Dean Ambrose to retain his WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
