San Jose State Spartans football
In Mike MacIntyre's third season as head coach, the 2012 San Jose State Spartans football team finished the season with an 11–2 win-loss record, a victory over Bowling Green in the 2012 Military Bowl, and its first post-season national ranking since 1990. On July 1, 2013, SJSU left the Western Athletic Conference, the Spartans' conference home of 17 years, to begin competing in the Mountain West Conference.
