The Shang Ring is a medical device for male circumcision. The device – which was invented in early 2000s by Mr Jianzhong Shang – is fast growing in popularity due to several advantages over conventional surgical circumcision. It was approved for use by the WHO in June 2015. The Shang Ring first appeared in 2003 at the Hong Kong International Fair of Technology.
