Shirou Emiya (衛宮 士郎 Emiya Shirō) is a fictional character from the Japanese visual novel and anime series Fate/stay night by Type-Moon. In Fate/stay night, he is the main protagonist and the master of Saber during the Fifth Holy Grail War. He is an honest and good-hearted teenager, who always enjoys helping others and aspires to become a "hero of justice". In Fate/stay night, two incarnations of him appear: his original self from the present timeline, and an alternative version of him from a possible future, called EMIYA, who becomes a Counter Guardian and eventually a Servant in the Holy Grail War.
