St. Nicholas' Church, Volgograd

The St. Nicholas' Church (Russian: Храм Святого Николая) It is a Catholic church in the city of Volgograd, which belongs to the Diocese of St. Clement in Saratov in Russia, currently under the direction of Bishop Clemens Pickel. The church was built in 1899 in neo-Gothic style, with a topped tower with a spire and side chapels dedicated to the Virgin Mary and St. Stanislaus. The church was closed by the authorities in 1930, stolen and vandalized. It became a school in 1935 and then a meeting room. It was so damaged in the 1980s that was about to be destroyed.
