The Sturt Mall provides direct competition with the nearby Wagga Wagga Marketplace. The proximity of the shopping centres has provided Wagga Wagga with a Coles Group-Woolworths rivalry which is evident in metropolitan areas. A feature of Sturt Mall is the 220 seat food court. The centre has recently undergone a $30 million upgrade.
