Tony Whittaker
Anthony Michael "Tony" Whittaker (4 May 1932 – 1 April 2016) was a British solicitor and politician, best known as the co-founder and first leader of PEOPLE, forerunner of the Green Party. Born in Coventry, Whittaker was educated at Warwick School and the University of Birmingham. He completed National Service with the Royal Air Force, then worked as a solicitor in Kenilworth, where he joined the Conservative Party and was elected to the local council.
