USS Barbet (AMS-41)
USS Barbet (AMS-41/YMS-45) was a YMS-1-class auxiliary motor minesweeper acquired by the U.S. Navy for the task of removing mines that had been placed in the water to prevent ships from passing. YMS 45 was laid down on 20 June 1941 at Brooklyn, New York, by the Wheeler Shipbuilding Corp.; launched on 20 April 1942; and commissioned on 8 June 1942, Lt.(jg.) LeRoy E. Rogers, Jr., USNR, in command.
