Uzzano

Uzzano is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Pistoia in the Italian region Tuscany, located about 45 kilometres (28 miles) west of Florence and about 15 kilometres (9 mi) southwest of Pistoia. As of 31 December 2005, it had a population of 5,019 and an area of 7.8 square kilometres (3.0 sq mi). The municipality of Uzzano contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Fornaci, Forone, Molinaccio, La Costa, Sant'Allucio, Santa Lucia, and Torricchio. Uzzano borders the following municipalities: Buggiano, Chiesina Uzzanese, Pescia, Ponte Buggianese.
