VH2 was a sister channel to VH1 in the United Kingdom. It launched in 2003, and slowly became an Indie rock channel, aimed primarily at men in the 25-34 demographic. It mainly showed music videos, though it also aired documentaries about artists VH2 played. It closed at 6am on 1 August 2006 to make way for MTV Flux due to bandwidth space. During VH2's final days, it basically showed music videos and old MTV idents from the 1980s and the 1990s. MTV Networks stated that because the main source of income for the channel, ringtone advertising, was slowing down, the channel had to close.
