Yak fiber

Yak fiber is the term commonly used to refer to the coat fiber produced by Yaks (Bos grunniens), a longhaired bovine mainly found in the Himalayan region, the Tibetan plateau and some areas of Mongolia and Central Asia. Yak fiber wool has been utilized by nomads in the Tran-Himalayan region for over a thousand years to make clothing, tents, ropes and blankets. Recently the fiber has also been used in the garment industry to produce premium-priced clothing and accessories.
