1971 US Open – Men's Singles

Stan Smith defeated Jan Kodeš 3–6, 6–3, 6–2, 7–6(5–3) in the final to win the Men's Singles tennis title at the 1971 US Open. Ken Rosewall was the defending champion but did not compete at the 1971 US Open – Men's Singles event. Rosewall and Tony Roche, both finalists from the previous year, did not compete in the tournament that year. This would not happen again at the US Open until the 2017 edition of the tournament, 46 years later.
