2006 Australian Open – Men's Singles

First-seeded Roger Federer defeated unseeded Marcos Baghdatis, 5–7, 7–5, 6–0, 6–2, in the final to win the Men's Singles tennis title at the 2006 Australian Open. Baghdatis became the first unseeded Australian Open finalist since Thomas Enqvist at the 1999 Australian Open, as well as the first Cypriot player (male or female) to reach the Grand Slam final. Marat Safin was the defending champion but pulled out due to an injury.
