The 2006 Tennessee Titans season was the franchise’s 47th season overall, 37th with the league, and tenth in Tennessee. The season began with the Titans trying to improve on their 4–12 record in their 2005 season. The team improved to 8–8, but missed the playoffs for the third consecutive season. However, the Titans were winless for five consecutive games before winning their first game against the Redskins in week 6.
